Organizations

Organizations are the top-level container in Fairlx, providing centralized management for workspaces, projects, and team members.

What is an Organization?

An Organization in Fairlx represents a company, team, or group of collaborators. It serves as the top-level container that owns and manages:

  • Workspaces — Containers for related projects
  • Team Members — Users with various roles and permissions
  • Billing — Centralized usage tracking and invoicing
  • Settings — Organization-wide configurations
Note
Organizations are available only with Organization accounts. Personal accounts have a simpler structure without the Organization layer.

Organization Structure

Fairlx uses a hierarchical structure for organizing work:

Organization
├── Workspace (Engineering)
├── Project (Backend API)
├── Project (Frontend App)
└── Project (Mobile App)
├── Workspace (Marketing)
├── Project (Website)
└── Project (Campaigns)
└── Workspace (Operations)
└── Project (Internal Tools)

Creating an Organization

There are two ways to create an Organization:

  1. Sign up with Organization account — Choose "Organization" during the signup process
  2. Upgrade from Personal — Convert your existing Personal account to an Organization
Warning
Upgrading from Personal to Organization is a one-way operation. Once converted, you cannot revert back to a Personal account. All your existing data will be preserved.

Organization Settings

Organization admins can configure various settings:

  • General — Name, logo, and description
  • Members — Invite, remove, and manage team roles
  • Security — Authentication policies and access controls
  • Billing — Payment methods, invoices, and usage reports

Billing & Ownership

In Fairlx's usage-based model, billing is centralized at the Organization level:

  • All usage across workspaces and projects is aggregated
  • A single invoice is generated for the Organization
  • Organization owners and admins can view billing details
  • eMandate and auto-debit can be configured for automatic payments

Learn more about billing in the Billing Overview section.
