Organization Layer

Why org-first matters

Organizations provide the control layer for enterprise-grade team management.

Member Management

Invite team members via email. Manage access across all organization workspaces from a single dashboard.

Role-Based Access

Three organization-level roles: Owner, Admin, and Member. Each with distinct permissions and responsibilities.

Owner: Full control + billing
Admin: Manage members + settings
Member: Standard access
Custom workspace roles

Billing Ownership

Organization-level billing means one invoice, one payment method, complete visibility across all workspaces.

Centralized invoicing
Usage-based pricing
Billing entity tracking
Cost allocation by workspace

Account Conversion

Personal accounts can be converted to Organization accounts at any time. Usage before conversion is billed to the user; usage after is billed to the organization. This is a one-way conversion by design.

Hierarchy Model

Structure that scales

A clear 4-level hierarchy keeps work organized from enterprise down to individual tasks.

Organization

Top-level container for your company or team. Controls billing, members, and multiple workspaces.

Workspace

Isolated environment with its own members and settings. Each org can have multiple workspaces.

Space

Logical grouping for departments or product areas. Has a unique key that prefixes all work items.

Project

Where actual work happens. Contains boards, sprints, and work items. Supports Scrum, Kanban, or Hybrid.

├── Product Team (Workspace)

Delivery Flow

From idea to done

A proven agile workflow: Backlog → Sprint → Board. Simple, powerful, and flexible.

Stage 1

Backlog

All work items start here. Prioritize, estimate with story points, and refine before sprint planning.

Stage 2

Sprint

Time-boxed iterations with goals and date ranges. Move items from backlog to sprint during planning.

Storage

File attachments, project documents, and media. Time-weighted daily snapshots for accurate billing.

GB-months

Compute

AI features, background jobs, and processing tasks. Weighted by job type for fair pricing.

Real-time Dashboard

View current period usage, set alerts at custom thresholds, and track trends over time. All metrics visible at workspace and organization levels.

Billing Entity Tracking

Each usage event is attributed to its billing entity. During Personal to Org conversion, usage is correctly split by timestamp for accurate invoicing.
